Sending/receiving tables inserted in emails via Gmail can be problematic, particularly if the table has advanced formatting. Whereas Gmail does support simple tables inserted in emails, it can’t process HTML and handle the advanced editing in the messages. At that point of time, it is better to edit the table in a spreadsheet before you embed it into mail or using it as an attached file to avoid the issues. Though you can get a hassle-free solution for such problems by contacting the Gmail customer support number, it is also advised to follow this guide to fix the problems with tables in the Gmail account.

Fix 1 - Inserting Tables

Occasionally, if you select a table in the Excel worksheet, Word documents or an HTML file, you can copy/ paste it into a mail of Gmail. If you receive only the test without containing the table or any other format, ensure that Gmail is not configured to plain text mode.  To set the text mode, click the arrow at the end of the mail, placed to the right side of the Trash icon, and then uncheck the ‘Plain Text Option’ box.

Fix 2 - Editing Tables

Though it is potential to correct typos or change the text in the table embedded in the email, that’s all you can easily do.  Gmail doesn’t allow adding or deleting columns or rows. To make such types of changes, copy and paste a table into the blank sheet with Google Docs or Microsoft Excel. When you get the table considering the method you want it, select the table and then copy and paste it into the Gmail message.

Fix 3 - Sending Tables to Gmail Receivers

Unlike other email services, such as Outlook, Gmail doesn’t offer support for the HTML. It means that if you insert a table or any other formats in the message with HTML, it won’t display to Gmail receivers. Rather than using HTML while you compose messages, set your message format to the ‘Rich Text,’ which is positioned under the ‘Options’ menu. A table inserted into the Rich Text formatted message is displayed to the recipient, and even other Internet-based email programs.

Fix 4 - Controlling Formatting

Most of the formatting options, such as colored text or different width lines, are misplaced when inserted into an email delivered via Gmail. You can stop this from occurring by saving the table as a file and then sending it as an attachment. When saving the table as a Google Docs, it also provides the option for saving the file as a shared document in Google Drive, providing receivers read-only or editing permissions. Also, you can take the table screenshot and insert the image in the message. If you’re using the Windows 8.1, click on the table window and then press the ‘Alt+PrtScn’ keys to take the screen shot. You will the image is saved to the Screenshots folder in the Pictures section.

If the problem exists and you still can’t insert the table into Gmail Message, another solution you can try is to call on the Gmail customer service number and speak with the professionals to get your problems resolved promptly.
